During Week 4, the student will submit a paper with a 20-30 page body on one current criminal justice theory impacting one of the three criminal justice pillar. The student will select one of the three criminal justice pillars, law enforcement, courts, or corrections, select a prevailing criminal justice theory in that pillar, and explain the impact of that theory on the operations of that particular pillar. The selection of the pillar and the related theory is up to the student. The student is encouraged to and recommend to reach out to the course faculty member to ensure the theory and pillar meets the criteria for this course. The faculty member is the voice to determine if the theory and pillar meet the criteria. The student should seek confirmation on this prior to submitting the graded work.
