For this paper, you will describe how culture (example: Eastern versus Western society) influences human development..In what ways does culture help or hinder development of cognition (memory processes), emotional development, social relationships? Students will use the textbook, slides and research articles to find information on specific culture examples. Students are expected to incorporate specific book examples of culture by writing about those book examples in their own words (DO NOT COPY AND PASTE BOOK MATERIAL INTO YOUR PAPER).
You must find a MINIMUM of two-peer reviewed articles from the research databases at Towson University (from the past 10 years). These articles should focus on the role of culture in human development. Students will integrate findings from these two articles into the paper. What was the purpose of the study for each article? What culture was examined? Do the findings relate to findings from the course textbook? Do either of the two articles address how culture affects cognitive development, emotional development, or social relationships? If so, what were the findings? Students are expected to incorporate specific journal article information about culture by writing about the information in their own words (DO NOT COPY AND PASTE JOURNAL ARTICLE MATERIAL INTO YOUR PAPER).
All information must be APA style when citing references in the body of the paper, and the paper must include a title page and a reference page (all APA style).
This paper can be no more than 5 pages (no less than 3, and the title page DOES NOT count as a page). The Culture and Development Paper must be typed, doubled spaced, with one-inch margins. NO DIRECT QUOTES ALLOWED.
