1. Defining Effective Communication

• In your own words, define person-centered, strength-based, and empathic language.
• Why are these communication approaches especially important in nursing leadership?

1. Impact on Relationships

• Assess how using person-centered, strength-based, and empathic language can positively influence relationships between nurse leaders and staff, and between healthcare professionals and patients/families.
• Share an example from your professional experience or a case study where language significantly impacts trust, morale, or collaboration.

1. Challenges and Strategies

• Identify common barriers to consistently using person-centered, strength-based, and empathic language in busy or high-stress environments.
• Propose strategies nurse leaders can use to model and encourage communication practices within their teams.
