Good day, all! After reading this week’s scheduled reading, Im forced to look further up as our redemption draws nearer than when we first started this semester (Luke 21:28). The summary of Schwarz’s Natural Church Development (NCD) really changed my perspective when reading page 4. This all by itself principle really sums up so much; it allows my soul to be refreshed and at peace (CoachNet, 4). This would have to be the most important paradigm it is knowing that our Father has it all under control. It allows me to focus on Him and what He may or may not have for me to do. It allows me to focus on what I believe to be my life verse, Be still and know that I am God, and goes hand in hand with it (Psalm 46:10). I believe that all of the other aspects are important and everything we have learned from Hirsch, Cole, McNeal and Scazzero are important, especially the Ephesians 4 principles and being missional. Just like Martha had to recognize her busy work wasnt as important as Martha sitting at His feet, I need to learn the same thing (Luke 10:41-42). If Im not sitting at His feet first, I cant even recognize all that has already been done.

This semester provided me a way to continually be upward focused. It is only in this upward (supernatural) focus that Im able to do the work set out for me. It is more important to make sure I completely understand our Father’s vision before going off half-cocked, thinking I know what my mission is. I only have a mission if I have been sent and I can only be sent if I hear from our Father. I thought I had slowed down, but it may not have been slow enough. When Moses went off half-cocked, he killed an Egyptian thinking he knew what he was doing (Exodus 2:11-13). I do the same thing, and I would rather spend my 40 years in the desert, prepared even if it is for a single soul. What do you think? Enjoy your day with Jesus!
